Netflix has just announced a few good news for Google Pixel owners: You can now watch (some) your favorite events and movies in HDR and HD quality. When the new device comes out, Netflix does not immediately add HD and HDR support, and the owner of this cellphone or tablet usually has to wait until the software support required is placed on the device-by-device base. In the case of this new Google Pixels, some users have waited quite a long time.
According to the Netflix support page, Netflix in HD and HDR now (on January 27, 2022) is available for Google Pixel 5A, Google Pixel 6, and Google Pixel 6 Pro. It’s about time: Pixel 5a launched in August 2021, and until now, it can only play Netflix in standard quality regardless of the Netflix plan used. As for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, this phone has been around since October 202, so it was still a long time.
As recorded in our review of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, this phone has a quite luxurious appearance: pixel 6 sports OLED screen 6.4 inches with the capabilities of FHD + and 90Hz refresh level, while the brother has a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with QHD + and 120Hz refresh level. In other words, this phone is definitely appropriate to get Netflix in HD, because they can use it. But obviously, not everyone can watch Netflix in HD and HDR.
Netflix has three plans, and from the three, only two HD and HDR support (Ultra HD). Prices recently increased, so try HD more expensive, but it can be worth the high-quality cellphone users like the latest pixels. To get HD quality flow, you need to improve to the standard package, and for Ultra HD, premium plans.
The Netflix standard plan is worth $ 15.49 per month and offers streaming to two devices at once, plus HD quality flow on supported devices. Premium plans can be used at up to 4 screens at once, all on Ultra HD quality, but the price is almost $ 20 per month.
However, before you update your Netflix plan, keep in mind that you will not always be able to stream in HD – regardless of Netflix add HD capabilities for pixels. Your internet connection is also important. If you use a cellular connection or have a limited data package, you might not be able to stream Netflix in HD on your pixel, even with the correct plan.
After you believe that your pixels mark all boxes, activate HD easy and can be done through Netflix settings for each profile. See the Netflix support page for information that is relevant to your device.
